We are Honoured
I have often mentioned, how my lack of commmand over the English language, leaves me to struggle for words when trying to express heartfelt gratitude.
For this reason and believing the art of fine speech to be something we can all aspire to, I have started to read the English dictionary.
During our lifetime, would it not be wonderful to witness the coming of a completely revised edition?
The word 'war' would be described as an ancient word that had meaning only in olden times, when little leadership in terms of wisdom was displayed by those who took power over others.
The word 'discrimination' would tell of a time when ignorance reigned among many beings on earth.
Pure Intentions would not be stated on the Gesar Foundation website. We would live in an age where intentions are always healthy.....What else should they be?
Words can heal as well as hurt. We can use the dictionary as a healing manual. It explains that some words are as sharp as a knife. That they can deliver hammer blows. That they have the power to destroy...just as an invading army can destroy too.
As Gesar people, lets do what we can to make much of our language redundant. Lets put all harmful words into history by not using them anymore.
Imagine an ocean in ancient times. In a time when they were undisturbed by man. How clear, how beautiful they must have been. Our minds, with the help of our thoughts, speech and actions can be clean like this.
Many young people are keen on the martial arts but let it be known, that the greatest of all finee arts are those expressed by the truly virtuous.
A good person has no need to defend themselves. They are protected by their own intentions.
Another can not destroy us. We can only harm ourselves by selling ourselves and others short.
May all beings live in the tranquility of their own mind. May all beings be free of ignorance. May our happiness be vast and boundless, pervading the potential of our mind.
