To benefit children across the globe

Jaden Cornelious has spent many years in the recording industry having been lead singer in the boy band B-yond. In more recent times he has worked to support Olivia Newton John in her wonderful effort to assist women who have breast cancer and now he is to act as an emissary of the Gesar Foundation and ambassodor of kindness to the world's children as he travels to Queensland Australia to organise and oversee the recording of the Aboriginal version of Wish Fulfilling Tree.

Below is a picture of Pawo with Jaden Cornelious at the Queens theatre Barnstaple England where the two men met recently for a press day organised by Joan Diamond.

Jaden is truly a good person and we thank him for his time and relentless enthusiasm in recording Wish Fulfilling Tree. His version, among other things, is to help the canplay organisation in North Devon secure their new and much needed premises for the children of the county.

Below is a picture of Pawo and Jaden standing with the true treasure of the day. Young Lauren can be very proud of herself as she made history by being the very first young person in the world to ever record alone the fourth verse of Wish Fulfilling Tree.

Lauren did a fantastic job, she put everybody at ease. We are very fortunate to know her and to have her help the world's children in the professional way she did.

Thank you Lauren. Their will be many children who are thankful for your birth, your kindness and your generosity.

Pawo was delighted to meet young Lauren as he explained to her how she is a leader and how many more young people from around the world will follow her example.

Below is a picture of all those Gesar members in North Devon who sang their parts in Jaden's version of Wish Fulfilling Tree. Thank you to everybody. It was wonderful to meet you all at the Queens theatre. I hope to see you all again at the Gesar Festival on the 26th September at Tapeley Park, where you will get another opportunity to perform together.

A word from Jaden

I was really chuffed to be asked to do my version of the Gesar Foundation children's Anthem 'Wish Fulfilling Tree' and straight away I thought ….classical…But I thought I should take time to really LISTEN to the lyrics and the other versions….. The Anthem was lovely and reminded me of a church hymn which I though was perfect to represent children across the globe.

I then started to think about ‘the children’ and how although an adult version is great it’s not what I thought would appeal to kids after all it’s their anthem and they are a huge listening market aswell. So I changed my mind from classical to something that would appeal across the ages, which would not drag on too long for a kid but would still remain ‘in essence’ the original.

I played with a few versions but wanted to get more childlike and nursery rhyme appraoch rather than hymn. I also decided that the 4th verse should not be sang by an adult but by a child so me wee friend Lauren Mountjoy helped out.

I wanted my version to be a celebration of youth an Anthem that was lively, fun and would have you wake up at 4am singing the thing !!! (Which it has done sooo many times now).

I wanted to include and reflect children from the all over the world …. So there many different flavours and sounds involved. I hope I have achieved my goal . Certainly we all had fun producing it.

It is heartwarming to hear of how the Caerphilly Male Voice Choir and Catrin Finch have been inspired to create their version with the help of the BBC

May it serve children for many years to come.

Love and Light
Jaden

Canplay serve all children across the region of North Devon England and are in need of larger premises. No doubt the generosity of Jaden Cornelious will help canplay in their move and in the meantime other plans are blossoming on the other side of the world.

Pictured below are Jaden, Pawo and Athos who is director of canplay and also leader of the samba band that is recording Wish Fulfilling Tree for the Brazilian children in the care of Divaldo Franco, the great humanitarian who has housed and educated thirty thousand of the world's most impoverished and vulnerable children.

Below we can see the delight on the face of Divaldo Franco. Thank you to everybody who is involved in this wonderful project.

Thank you Jaden for your kindness, generosity and quick reaction to our needs. You are truly a friend.
