Wish Fulfilling Tree 

is the title of the world Anthem for children, written by kelsang Pawo and George Lenoudias. The Anthem was scored for orchestra and choir by John Wilks. 

Wish Fulfilling Tree is a gift to all children across the globe. May countless lives benfit.

                                  

An open invitation

The Gesar Foundation send out an open invitation to all choirs, orchestra's and recording artist of all genre's across the world to produce versions of Wish Fulfilling Tree in all and every language known to man.  Permission to record is easily availlable by writing to the Gesar Foundation stating your intentions.

All versions without exception will be used to assist children financially somewhere in the world but more importantly, multiple versions will help generate a whole new beginning for the vulnerable.

We wish to congratulate the Caerphilly Male Voice Choir for their foresight in producing their most beautiful version. The choir are accompanied by Catrin Finch, considered to be the world's leading harpist. Also we must say thank you and congratulation to young Molly Quarterly. Molly is 11yrs old and sang the solo. 

Also the Gesar Foundation wish to thank the BBC for the inspiration, coverage and enthusiasm they have shown throughout.

May countless children benefit as Caerphilly, with others to come, inspire choirs, orchestra's and individual artist across the seas. 

 

                                   

The following message is of the upmost importance and should be read and fully understood by all who intend to record Wish Fulfilling Tree. 

It is wonderful to see our Anthem versions coming in and very pleased we are too, though it must be pointed out that it is of the upmost importance for all versions to keep to the melody of the piece and in translation as close as possible to the lyrics.

To give an example. If a Russian sang a Beatles number, it would be in a foreign language but still we would know it was a Beatles number. It is the same with Wish Fulfilling Tree. We are at present receiving some beautiful pieces that are definately inspired by the children's Anthem but unfortunately we cannot say they are versions of Wish Fulfilling Tree as they are removed from the melody etc.

All recordings that come in to Gesar will be employed to do a good job for children but it is such a shame to know that after much heartfelt work by several caring and compassionate artist, all versions received to date cannot be distributed as a version of the children's Anthem.

For all those who intend to participate in this fun filled and most meaningful project. Please, please, please remember the guidelines and the difference between an Anthem and a song.

                                      

It is our asperation at the Gesar Foundation

to see Wish Fulfilling Tree become the most recorded Anthem of all time. For it to be the most effective Anthem the world has ever known. Wish Fulfilling Tree is to swing a tide for children. It is both a flag and a banner that is to fly high and be a protector of the vulnerable. 

It is entirely possible for this generation to be remembered in history as the one that sought and found peace for all living beings. The potential is there.

We ask all those who have recorded songs inspired by the Anthem to think about the nature of the warrior and to find the energy to record again so they too in their indomitable way will help us achieve our goal.

                                      

The story of Wish Fulfilling Tree

The Gesar Foundation world Anthem for children has since it became available, brought about some remarkable events. In fact the whole story of Wish Filling Tree is really quite extraordinary.

Kelsang Pawo, a nomad monk has no home town, city or country, saying that if one is happy and at home with oneself, then 'here' is the same as 'there' and the world becomes our comfortable resting place. Pawo travels only to be of benefit to others.

Pawo wrote the lyrics to Wish Fulfilling Tree in what he called, a spontanious moment. He kept the lyrics with him as he travelled, until finally when in London, he met George Lenoudias.  

Pawo suggested that his new friend write the music to the chilldren's lyrics but their was no need to put thought to it as soon after their meeting the melody arrived to George while he slept 

History is now being made by the rather unusual meeting of Kelsang Pawo and George Lenoudias. Remarkably the two men consider their job to be finished and neither have any particular plan to meet again though in their brief time together they did compose the Jazz number It's A Dirty Business.

Pawo plans to take It's A dirty Business to New Orleans but likes the idea of Jules Holland and Ruby Turner recording it. The original version was arranged by Sam Eastmond and recorded live by the Gesar Foundation Jazz Collective

To date Wish Fulfilling Tree has inspired the forming of the Tambola Foundation of Colombia and the Jaden Cornelious Foundation. Both organisations are to serve children. 

Wish Fulfilling Tree has been recorded by several individual artist and at present Chris Gray at Truro Cathedrel in England is working with John Wilks to produce a version to be sung by the superb Truro Cathedrel Choir.

As a result of Wish Fulfilling Tree, classical instruments are to be collected for the benefit of children in schools

The two pictures below show just two among countless families world wide who look forward to the arrival of Wish Fulfilling Tree. Pawo stopped over with both these families who assist Kate Fereday Eshete in Ethiopia.

      

Below are George Lenoudias in the recording studio laying down the melody of Wish Fulfilling Tree and John Wilks at home with his cherished silver flute. 

These two fine men are dedicated musicians. They both work diligently for the children of the world at no fee hoping their efforts will be of some use to tormented children. Without their kindness and solid commitment the  children's Anthem would not have developed beyond a kind wish.
