'Surrender' - The Movie

To benefit children with AIDS

Birgitta Bernhard

Birgitta, an actress, writer, medium and healer has written the screen play 'Surrender' in collaboration with Simone Wright, as an Homage to a dear friend, to pay respect to his journey and because he truly trusted, had faith and healed himself.

It was a wonderful day when we met Birgitta on the Kings Road in London England, to discover she shared our intentions of giving children, born into challenging circumstances, the opportunity to live their lives free of discrimination in the safe and loving environment where they will have their lives enhanced by every means available.

Children with AIDS

As we are all aware, the Gesar Foundation offers friendship and protection to all children and to this end we have plans in action to give perfect shelter to those youngsters who live with the life threatening AIDS virus. Our work in this area began a long time ago when we set out our clear intentions to assist HIV children in the most meaningful way. It has always been a matter of remaining patient while waiting upon the most perfect opportunity to act. We are now presented with this through the generosity of Birgitta Bernhard and her pure intentions.

Multi Million Dollar

Under usual circumstances this moving and highly meaningful feature film would be made on a multi million dollar budget but we have belief in the energy and inventiveness of the young and that our film will reach the screen with minimal cost. Our young braveheart warriors will be free to make the film they believe in without the restraints of a budget. The finished movie will no doubt overflow with a huge amount of artistic integrity, vision and compassion. How can the end result be anything other than fantasic, when the motivation behind the film is one of pure intentions toward others who suffer and an advertisement for the talent of today's young men and women?

Living legacy from artist

Birgitta says she feels “its a blessing that this film will not only leave a legacy through its message for those it will reach, but also that it will allow us actors, the director, the crew, the producers, musicians and supporters to collectively, in collaboration with the Gesar Foundation, make a difference and eventually will literally support the ones in need.”

Pictured below. It is wonderful to see our patron Bernat Molina on this page. He was among the first to show great enthusiasm and his presence will add great joy and to al those who are to work with him.

Final draft

After eight years on and off working on the Surrender screen play, the 9th and final draft of is now completed, and a meeting is set to take place with Mark Emberson, a young and very exciting young man who has a most successful future awaiting him in the world of film direction. Mark shortly returns from The United States, when he will set in motion the making of Surrender. Already we have the commitment of several well-respected actors, including Birgitta herself and the participation of Pawo, who is very keen to do what little he can to further the cause, Also. All the Gesar music team are waiting patiently, to write and produce the film score.

Below are pictured Pawo and Mark Emberson, deep in discussion as to what is to be done.

Payments

Fees, of course, will be offered to all who participate in the production but, except expenses, deferred, and in the wake of the film's success rather than in advance. This will allow the Gesar Foundation and Birgitta and everyone involved to spend any profits Surrender has made on the children, who so depend on our help and supply the opportunity for the director, actors, the skilful crew, producers and others to participate in something so very meaningful. There can be no better reason for us to apply our skills than to use them for the sake of those who suffer.

Others who have given their skills

The Gesar Foundation has many friends who in the past have offered freely their skills and expertise. If it were not for these fine examples of generosity then Wish Fulfilling Tree, It’s A Dirty Business, Boy Soldier and other music tracks would not have been recorded for the Gesar music album. We believe that over time countless artists and other good people will join us in this way and between them make a marked difference to the lives of children.

Below we have a picture of Pawo, along with Tim Wheater and his son Fynn. These two fine men are the latest to join our music team. Tim has a long history in the music business and Fynn has just received, aged eight, an entry into Oxford university to study music. He is an accomplished violinist and wonderful vocalist. Welcome to the Gesar Foundation, Tim and Fynn Wheater. To listen to some of Tim's amazing work, go to timwheater .com

When all commitments are met

The Gesar Foundation and Birgitta together as partners will ensure that profits from Surrender are spent with wise consideration. Countless children will benefit from the results and those involved in the production will have their lives enhanced by the experience of pure intentions. Together we will make history.

Financial assistance

If you are a company or individual and would like to take part in this project by offering sponsorship of some equipment or air flights for instance, then write to Gesar and introduce yourselves. Your contact will be most welcome.

Congratulation

Birgitta Bernhard, Pawo and all those at Gesar who already have pledged their skills, would like to congratulate all those who are of a fine mind to join us in this wonderful and most exciting venture. We will keep you posted on progress.

A brief Synopsis of 'Surrender'

The moment of Surrender is not when life is over. It is when it begins!

London 1991. Surrender is the story of Will and Suzanne, a happily married and professionally fulfilled couple, whose lives are turned upside down as Will contract the HIV positive virus, as a result of a seemingly insignificant incident with one of his patients.

His world, his work as a surgeon and his life are hurled into devastating, all encompassing turmoil and he retreats into isolated apathy. Suzanne desperately tries to reach him and when he decides to leave London for India, she goes with him, prioritising their relationship over her own professional responsibilities as a writer and teacher.

The situation spirals into further confusion when Suzanne discovers that she is pregnant and cannot be sure that she and their unborn child has not contracted the virus. Frightened and completely opposed to having the child, Will realises that he has to face himself and his fate.

He begins his journey by himself and discovers Tibetan Medicine.

In their separateness and despair, Suzanne and Will learn about real love, about the power of positive intention, and of the endless possibility of surrender.
