We are Honoured

                &nbs...

I have often mentioned, how my lack of commmand over the English language, leaves me to struggle for words when trying to express heartfelt gratitude.
For this reason and believing the art of fine speech to be something we can all aspire to, I have started to read the English dictionary.
During our lifetime, would it not be wonderful to witness the coming of a completely revised edition?

The word 'war' would be described as an ancient word that had meaning only in olden times, when little leadership in terms of wisdom was displayed by those who took power over others.
The word 'discrimination' would tell of a time when ignorance reigned among many beings on earth.
Pure Intentions would not be stated on the Gesar Foundation website. We would live in an age where intentions are always healthy.....What else should they be?

Words can heal as well as hurt. We can use the dictionary as a healing manual. It explains that some words are as sharp as a knife. That they can deliver hammer blows. That they have the power to destroy...just as an invading army can destroy too.

As Gesar people, lets do what we can to make much of our language redundant. Lets put all harmful words into history by not using them anymore.
Imagine an ocean in ancient times. In a time when they were undisturbed by man. How clear, how beautiful they must have been. Our minds, with the help of our thoughts, speech and actions can be clean like this.

Many young people are keen on the martial arts but let it be known, that the greatest of all finee arts are those expressed by the truly virtuous.
A good person has no need to defend themselves. They are protected by their own intentions.
Another can not destroy us. We can only harm ourselves by selling ourselves and others short.

May all beings live in the tranquility of their own mind. May all beings be free of ignorance. May our happiness be vast and boundless, pervading the potential of our mind.

How living beings benefit from Gesar

The word Gesar translated from the Tibetan means perfect, indomitable and also in true, as with the...

For an organisation such as the Gesar Foundation to work and become truly meaningful, we need particular components parts to gather. These parts sometimes take time to manifest and great patience needs to be displayed.
In the case of Gesar, we needed true, unwavering friendship of the kind we read about in myth and legend, when individuals, sometimes far afield and in different lands, continue to keep faith while standing upright in the name of others and their happiness.
Through the virtue of patience, all the needs of Gesar are now showing distinct signs of blossom. This was always inevitable as I believe the roots of gesar are set still in the perfect way.
In recent times we have seen new people join our long standing team. Names such as Nick Dear and Ali Atwell are now firmly with us. With great appreciation to Magdalena Rutkowska, George Lenoudias, Joan Diamond and Hector Christie, we are about to share our very first Gesar Foundation celebration day at Tapeley Park, our North Devon home.
Gesar can now announce our intentions of how it is possible to relieve the ngo's of much work, difficulty and hardship through friendship with those spread far and wide, who can directly make a distinct and marked difference to the lives of children and those who are vulnerable.

May countless beings across countless generations be forever thankful for your births.
May our mothers be forever blessed.
I wish all living beings happiness, success and prosperity.
May all living beings live free from the fear of me.
May the Gesar Foundation be the umbrella that will shield all from oppression and give the oppressed freedom from suffering.
Bless you all, my dear friends.

Wonderful year of friendship and growth.

Some weeks back I started to form a mental picture of how I was going to write my thank you's to my...

My first thoughts were to mention every last one of you, as this is what ideally I would like to do.
As I started to make the list, it dawned upon me that Gesar have literally hundreds of friends that we are directly in touch with and still more others who indirectly we are associated.
Now it is my job to write one blog that thanks you all, with no photo's and no mention of individuals as the space and time are simply not available.
Certainly without the friends of Gesar we would not be in the position we are today. During the last twelve months we have sown global seeds. Again I am tempted to mention names and choirs but I refuse to be drawn as though I may start with, for instance, the Caerphilly Male Voice Choir, where would I go from there?
Everybody working under the Gesar umbrella has played a vital role in our success. Where would be without our fantastic web designers Nick and Adam at Sqn Solutions. Their role has been vital and what a wonderful job they have done for the children.
Joan Diamond has single handed, kept our Gesar Drama going and what about the varied versions of the world Anthem Wish Fulfilling Tree? A whole list of individuals have been involved in this from the BBC, street buskers and classical musicians and choristers.
I think of the established and developing humantarians that are working as Gesar Foundation Ambassadors. Dominika Baran, kara Green, Terry Emberson, Jacky and Paul Stone and Corina Cattermull. Much of the work done by these fine people remains as yet unreported and all have teams, or are a part of a team that does something truly meaningful in the world today.
The Jaden Cornelious Foundation was formed this past year inspired by the efforts of Gesar, as was the Tambola Foundation that benefits the children of Colombia. We all have so many friends to celebrate with. We can all rejoice at our having met with each other.
I will say no more.
I wish all living beings, every happiness, every contentment, every success and prosperity for now and in the future.

And as a final word. Thank you Magdalena Rutkowska for the donation of the Wish Fulfilling Tree perfect painting.
Bless you all.

Jaden the Anthem and America

Last week I received from the Jaden Cornelious Foundation, an invitation to act on their behalf as a patron. I am delighted to accept this role. My first job is to encourage recording artist in America to folllow the example set by others to record the world Anthem for children Wish Fulfilling Tree.
Jaden Cornelious was among the first artist to record the Anthem and as a result, with the help of the BBC, he has inspired further highly meaningful interest. We are very grateful to the Caerphilly Male Voice Choir and Catrin Finch for their pending version.
Below is the logo of the Jaden Cornelious Foundation. We trust it is to become completely synonymous with the welfare of all living beings. May countless lives benefit from it.

Jaden Cornelious has for some time now been an Ambassador of the Gesar Foundation for chilldren. He has done a truly meaninful job and continues to do so.
Gesar encouraged Jaden to form the new Foundation as his efforts are not limited to only children. He is at present on an extensive tour raising money through his performances for the breast cancer charity speed2acure that is inspired by Oliver Newton John.
There is no sense in Gesar handling his administration. It is better for Jaden to distribute his funds as he see's fit and under these circumstances a wider area of society can benefit. The important thing is that we work together, keep the same goals and principles and celebrate our success in a way that is united.
Pictured below is Pawo with Jaden taken at the Queens theatre in Barnstaple England. This is a celebration of Jaden's version of Wish Fulfilling Tree. Also in the picture is young Lauren, a local young lady who sang with Jaden on the recording and very thankful we were too to have someone to show Jaden how it should be done. Thank you Lauren, you are a treasure and we all love you dearly.

The Gesar Foundation look to Jaden to promote Wish Fulfilling Tree in America. His presence there will directly benefit speed2acure and we are very happy with this. When we think of breast cancer we often forget the effects this has on others. I can not imagine the suffering of a child when they lose a parent to this most devestating desease. Go to America Jaden and carry with you great blessings.
Below is a picture of Jaden Cornelious with Olivia Newton John.

The trip to America is in its early stages of planning. We are actively making arrangements for a meaningful agent to represent us. Hopefully we trust an agreement is not too far away and as a result many will benefit.
Below is a picture of the Caerphilly Male Voice Choir. As a result of our friendship and the help given by Catrin Finch and the BBC, it is our Gesar plan to present the Welsh people with Wish Fulfilling Tree (the painting)

How wonderful if Jaden can present the same to the American nation for public display due to help we receive from leading recording artist giving of themselves. I am certain it will look wonderful in a music hall of fame.
Below is the Wish Fulfilling Tree painting that Jaden hopefully will get the opportunity to present. America is a very big country and unless we receive meaningful help it is doubtful that we will make early headway.

We thank the international Polish artist Magdalena Rutkowska for the painting she donated to the Gesar Foundation. There is in production a limited edition on Canvas. Each is to be a gift to those who assist the children of the world. May it hang in many places.

The significance of intentions

I look at the world today and recognise clearly the need for love, wisdom and compassion.
Anything that manifest to assist our frightful situation can be termed an international treasure.
Under these circumstances, Wish Fulfilling Tree, the oil on canvas gift to the world's children from Magdalena Rutkowska, is of far more significance than any other revered art pieces that may grace the galleries of the world.

For a very long time now, queues have formed to view the Mona Lisa. Academics, art historians, journalist, kings and paupers have had their say about this most mysterious work but has the world received any real or true benefit from it's having being painted?
What we see in a piece of artwork is very much dependent on what is on our own mind, we make our own interpratation. The true potential of our children was on the mind of Magdalena Rutkowska when she painted Wish Fulfilling Tree and I trust all will recognise her pure intentions as her work becomes increasingly synonymous with it's meaning.
Thank you Leonardo but thank you even more Magdalena.

The Land Of Song

Following a recent visit to Wales the fruit of Wish Fulfilling Tree is about to truly blossom.

Once upon a time, not so long ago, the Gesar Foundation had a vision for all the children of the world to have their very own Anthem.
The Anthem Wish Fulfilling Tree was not simply to be a fine musical piece recorded just for the sake of it. It was to be an Anthem that truly made a marked difference for the young people who are to grow to be custodians of the future.
It is sadly true that our young people are often caught up in situations that they can barely cope with. This has a distinct effect on their happiness, contentment and asperations. It is for us to set the example that will ensure a healthy environment for them to develop within.
When children grow in a healthy atmosphere then all life will benefit. The elderly will live without fear, animals will be cared for and generosity of spirit will allow the vulnerable to be free.
Recently I made a visit to the Land Of Song where Roy Noble at the BBC sent out on air an appeal for a choir to record Wish Fulfilling Tree. The results have been enormous.
A firm date is yet to be set but we think the Caerphilly Male Voice Choir joined by the world's leading harpist Catrin Finch will record Wish Fulfilling Tree during the week beginning the 19th of October. How wonderful this is. It is a gift for all children without exception from the generosity and heartfelt passion of fine musicians.
Thank you to all involved in bringing this historic event to the ears of music lovers acrosss the world. May your generosity be a sourse of happiness to countless beings across eons of generations.
I cannot find adequate words to describe the sheer and boundless joy I feel. May the potential of life reach every living being.
From your friend

The wonders of our friends

We have over recent updates concentrated on what is happening with Wish Fulfilling Tree. This has been of great importance as we all wish the world's children to benefit from their very own Anthem.
Below I post a mail sent to me by our dear friend Joan Diamond. This mail shows how dedicated individuals are working tirelessly with children, helping with confidence, developing their social skills and giving them a sense of community.

A letter from Joan Diamond
Joan is the back bone of Gesar Drama
The children had a good meeting last night, albeit extremely noisy! Democracy in motion tends to get them somewhat excitable.
They had a selection of plays to look at. It was no contest. I knew which they would go for and I was right. I held up one script and said I was not too sure how their parents might react to it as it has some bad words in it. There was a united yell of "That one!" I said "But you don't even know what it is about"
"Does it have a murder in it?" They asked. I said it did, and a ghost. They were enchanted. The other plays were declared "rubbish".
I will give it a toned down (slightly) tweek and adjust a couple of really saucy bits which might have gone over their heads but I would not bet on it. They have chosen "THE WYRD SISTERS" by Terry Pratchett. In it Terry Pratchett takes Shakespear's 'Macbeth' and then turns it up 'till the knob comes off''
The sisters are the three witches. Some of the main parts are cast. The smaller ones will be chosen once they have their (amended) scripts. Little Jamie is on cloud nine as he was voted 'Props Manager'. He immediately shot off to the Gesar box to unearth the '"Props Manager's Clip Board!" All heady stuff you know. He has a team working under him. They wanted to be Props Manager until I told them it was hard work. I have never seen hands go down so fast in all my time at Drama. The smirk on Jamie's face said it all. He had a 100% vote in his favour. They still need to do more recruiting in order to get a full cast. We are short of robbers and peasants. One delicate looking little sole (female) offered to play the part of the robbers. She obviously enjoys the idea of a challenge as the offer was for the plural and not just one.
They were pleased to learn I had sent their card. I gave them your love, which was appreciated. A further noisy discussion then took place while a couple of new members were enlightened as to who you are and exactly what Gesar is as well. It is doubtful that they heard a word as children do tend to talk all at once.

We trust that the appearance of the children's Anthem will generate many more facilities for our children, just like Joan has a generated Gesar Drama in Devon England.
The children all have a wonderful time and no doubt will carry many memories into their adult life.
Bless you Joan
Love to all of you and I look forward to seeing you all again soon.
For those who would like to follow the fine examples of Joan, Dominika Baran, Kara Green and others, please write to us telling of your special interest.
Also I would like to thank Anthar Kharana for his correspondence. It is wonderful to hear how the Tambora Foundation is coming together for Colombian children. Tambora was inspired by the children's Anthem Wish Fulfilling Tree and the work of the Gesar Foundation.

I would like to thank on behalf of my family, all our dear friends and supporters for their kind messages at the passing of my mother, who left this life on the 5th September this year.
Mum was a friend to all she met and always wished happiness to every living being. She was always kind, generous, thoughtful and sensitive to the feelings of others. We all miss mother and wish her every contentment for the future.

Thank you all once more for your kindness and prayers.

I was very sad to hear of the loss of my dear friend Richard Brown.
Dear Richard was twenty two when he left this life less than two weeks ago. He was a great friend to me personally and very supportive toward the Gesar Foundation.
I saw Richard only a few days before his parting. We took the opportunity to discuss the role he was to play at Holsworthy. Richard was a dedicated Dharma student and looked forward very much to being part of the Bodhisattva school.

I am confident that our friendship in this life time was a continuation of what we had from before. Under those circumstances Richard, I look forward to seeing you again.
May your rebirth be a favourable rebirth. May you be a protector to those who have no protector.
Bless you my friemd

A place to all meet

Ideas are coming forward thick and fast as to how we shall accomodate ourselves at our centre.

Alf, Nathan and Pawo went off to meet a neighbouring farmer who offered us six former class rooms for our Devon centre.
Pictured below are Alf and Nathan as they give them the once over and consider how we may move them.

It has now been decided that due to our pending meeting with the architect, that we should wait for the drawings of the small complex of chalets that we really want and to not seek interim buildings.
Below, Youngsters visiting the sancuary enjoy their play. We look forward to many more joining them over the summer.

Below. Here is another new addition to the sanctuary. This beautiful foal was born to one of the mares that arrived at the Quality of life animal Sanctuary after being rescued from a trip they were due to make from france to Italy for slaughter.
It is clear to see why the sanctuary that Gesar are so privilaged to be assosciated with need so much support.

Mark Emmins, a recording artist and friend of the sanctuary asked me if he may record Wish Fulfilling Tree so to raise much needed for the animals.
Of course permission was given with pleasure. Children would not wish to see an animal suffer and the young ones take much pleasure in visiting here. It is wonderful to know that children are helping the animals by sharing their Anthem with them.
Below is a picture of Mark Emmins, a musician/songwriter, friend and regular visitor to the Quality of life animal Sanctuary. He is her enjoying the company of his wife Lisa and Alf under a beautiful Devon sky.

Congratulations Mark, we look forward to hearing your version of Wish Fulfilling Tree. We are certain it will be a great addition to the history of the Anthem.

There are many people who have assisted children through the Gesar Foundation and most of them have not as yet met each other. This summer this will change as we gather not only at Tapeley Park but also at our Holsworthy centre where their is work to be done.
We wish the units within our Gesar centre to be occupied by those who are going to naturally support the animals that live here.
The generosity of the De Ste Croix who run the Quality of life animal Sanctuary is limitless. They are a family that have devoted their lives to the welfare of all animals. Their is a home here for all those who need sanctuary and to help them achieve their goal they have invited Gesar to work with them.
All those who support animals and would like to witness the set up here in Holsworthy, then please do contact the sanctuary. The details are on our Gesar and the sanctuary page.
The santuary is in need of all the help we can muster between us with several jobs that need to be done before winter arrives.
I shall write again on this subject and hopefully see you all in Holsworthy as the summer unfolds.

a meaningful effort

Read this blog. It is important and effects us more than any other subject on earth.

At this very meaningful time in the history of the Gesar Foundation, it is appropriate to reflect on our goals, aims and asperations. This means that we can contemplate as to whether we are truly making headway.
It is my experience that all children wish to be safe, to be loved and to be encouraged in a helpful reassuring atmosphere. Also it is my experience that all parents want the best for their children, for them to be safe and assured with a healthy and meaningful future.
The problem is, we often view the world as unsafe with hidden dangers and as a result of these perceptions, we over guard and become fiercely protective of our own family with little lasting regard of others.
This does not mean we are uncaring but we tend to view that the children of other families are not necessarily our responsibility.
The route to a peaceful mind, a restful mind that can abide in its own tranquility is completely dependent upon our moral discipline. This means that our concern should be for all living beings without exception.
This means neighbours and their children and our brothers and sisters living further afield, their pets and the wild animals.
It is not for others to improve their morality but for all of us to lead with a display of good intentions and for each of us to shine the torch for the future.
I discussed with a friend recently how our lives can change by refraining from swearing for instance and how we feel happier when we treat others with equinimity, helping them, giving them space, rather than entering into idle gossip and malicious chatter.
My friend decided to run an experiment within her own day to day existence and found that her developing gentle, less aggressive manner actually had a profound effect upon those that she new and encountered.
One thing that is missing from modern society is the presence of the noble person. It is true that we are often consumed by our own wants and to attain them we are willing to forego our virtue.
What a wonderful example we would be to our young if we were of a mind to keep our virtue even at the cost of our own life. All too often we sell ourselves short in the relentless pursuit of pleasures that only bring us problems, never do they satisfy us and allow us to rest in peace.
All our concerns, it seems, are for our own self cherishing and enjoyment, even at the expense of the happiness of others.
It is not a religious thing but rather a natural law that has always existed, that we can not be truly happy until all beings are at peace and have found a common goal of equalness.
Some may say that this is a dream of the idealist but I would say that to aspire to anything less is foolhardy and missing the point of life. For what other reason would we wish to live our lives than to be good people?
We can comtemplate the words and thoughts of the Dalai Lama, when he said that to his mind we humans were not born to be aggressive. We do not have claws, infact what nails we do have are really quite frail. We do not have big mouths with which we can catch our pray and our teeth are vulnerable and soon lost.
From the outset of the Gesar Foundation, I have had the supreme pleasure of meeting and working with some of the most delightful people on the planet. All have been gentle but it would be a mistake to assume this is their weakness.
A persons strength is not in their muscle, nor in their aggression but it is in their patience and tolerance. Once a person displays aggression, then they have revealed their weakness, any strength they may have had melts and all around them lose respect seeing them only as a fool.

Idealistic or not, I have great faith that the ignorant disregard of our children's welfare is drawing to an end. I believe that the time for change has arisen, that soon all vulnerable beings will live without fear.
There are no weeping stories or heart string pulling tales on our web site. Why should their be when help is gathering under the Gesar flag? We are all gentle spiritual warriors who are fearless because we have nothing to lose and everything to gain from being decent human beings.
How wonderful for us to leave this life in peace, knowing that our birth truly was a benefit to others. That others were able to breath freely rather than quake in their shoes. What more would please our parents and children than the heroic example we set.
Lets have no tears at Gesar, only ones of sheer joy as we witness the results of friendship across the globe.
Will everybody who reads this blog please place a link from their face book or web site to our Wish Fulfilling Tree page. It is the seeds from the children's very own Anthem that are set to spread around the world. We will make countless friends and these friends will not knowingly harm us.

Wish Fulfilling Tree is in it's infancy, with four recordings being availlable on site but results of its affects spread ever and relentlessly wider as we sleep with a peaceful mind.
Lets be mindful of our actions, aware of our influence upon the lives of others and set the example we sought for ourselves. Then and only then will we truly reflect beauty of our human potential.
May true friendship be found between all living beings
May this be the generation that encouraged it.
Love to all
From
Pawo.

A meaningful frienship.

When we are introduced to a new friend, it is wonderful for both to pledge that others will benefit...

Their are many examples of this within the Gesar Foundation, for instance Dorje made this pledge and now Wish Fulfilling Tree is about to go world wide into all avenues where it is needed.
We can give many examples of the effects that pure intentions have had on the lives of those who are vulnerable. All are to be celebrated and all are worthy of mention.
The latest story of inspiration, is that of Anthar Kharana. Anthar was introduced to us by Dominika Baran. He is a Colombian musician who pledged to recored Wish Fulfilling Tree to help the rain forest children who are displaced from their villages due to warring factions who want their land.
Once able to sustain themselves using the knowledge they have of the forest they are now reduced to be beggers in the cities.
Recording Wish Fulfilling Tree has inspired Anthar to gather his friends and actively put together a brand new Charitable Foundation that will serve to preserve traditional arts and music in Colombia.
The new Foundation will give access to the indiginous children and allow them to take part in the preservation of their ancient ways, so nothing is forever lost.
I have no doubt of the power of friendship. We can rejoice at our meeting with Anthar. It is not necessary to meet him again. The pledge has been made and we will certainly witness the effects through others we meet.
We can take this opportunity to thank Steve Watkins for suggesting he take the photographs of Anthar for the Colombian press and media. They will be needed as Anthar's beautiful example of the diversity of Wish Fulfilling Tree is released across the world.
Steve Watkins is a skilled and highly popular photographer from the South West of England. Follow the link to see an example of his work.

May I continue to be most fortunate to meet men and woman of such great heart and giving.
May all living beings without exception benefit from the birth of such people.

An example of having fun for Gesar

There are many ways to have fun while supporting the Gesar Foundation.

While some enjoy our music and arts events and others enjoy our drama or recording Wish Fulfilling Tree, there are those who choose to defeat their fears.
An example of this is shown with great courage by two lads from Crawley in West Sussex England, who are to do a bungee jump in support of Dominika's Polish fund.
The two are Chris Penfold, a nephew of Pawo's and a manager with Fox and Sons estate agents and his friend and house mate Andy Menham.
They chose to support Dominika Baran's Gesar work in Poland following a meeting with her and Chris at the Wai kika Moo Kou restaurant in Brighton.
Chris was greatly inspired by his new friends activities and enthusiasm and immediately set too to support her.
Below is a picture of Chris and Dominika at their meeting and a picture of Chris in his garden in Crawley West Sussex England practicing his leap with Andy.

Chris plans at a later date to perform a wing walk on a light aeroplane while in flight. This will definately qualify him as a member of the Gesar characters club where he will join others who do safe but unusual things to help others.
We wish you every happiness lads and a successful landing. Who will join you as Gesar hero's?
The boys are to set up a Justgiving account and accept sponsorship from family and friends. The Crawley Observer news paper will cover the story and all proceeds will go directly to Dominika Baran for distribution.

Talking of Gesar fun. Charity need not be a miserable hard hitting affair. We can have fun while supporting others. All those who act with a healthy mind for others are not miserable people.
I have great admiration for all our friends who participate in helping Gesar and other charities. Not one of them will harm another. No other being need ever be in fear of them. They are happy people with a clear mind of good intentions.
Join them and have some fun this coming summer. Jann Wirtz for instance needs support with her Nepal fund. Lets see what we can do to assist her.
Below are just two of the children Jann supports through the Nepal fund. They are holding here a picture of our Gesar drama company overseen by Joan Diamond. How fortunate we are to know them.

As a result of our meeting today with Mj Paranzino, we are to inquire as to the availability of one of London's major music venues. We wish, this coming October, to record Wish Fulfilling Tree in six styles.
Wish Fulfilling Tree is certainly causing a stir and arousing much interest. The versions we envisaged, whether classical, operatic, reggae, folk or other appear to be on the horizon.
Mj Paranzino is to be musical director and the organisation of the evening is to be overseen by Diana Clater, Mj's assistant.
Below is a picture of Dorje shaking the hand of Diana's husband Lloyd. Diana is in the back ground and Mj Parazino is in the for front. Our meeting is over and we are preparing to say farewell until another day.

Remember there are several versions of Wish Fulfilling Tree already in the pipe line. One has been available on our web site for some time and soon we are to have available the version by Rima Chai via Youtube. Mj's version will be delivered by a one hundred and sixty member choir and others will arrive in there own time. We certainly have much to look forward to.
More will announced about the venue and the Wish Fulfilling Tree evening as events, dates etc unfold.

Patience, time and space

Not all our dreams come true immediately, sometimes we must be patient and wait for the conditions...

If we truly represent children then the example we display must be one of patience.
This fine quality has been shown by all who support us as we have kept our mind on our goal and waited for certain things to fall into place and manifest.
This is true for instance of our Anthem. 'Wish Fulfilling Tree' has been a long time in coming but now the waiting is over and in an instant, it seems, we have several versions about to appear. Rima Chai's is the first, the video for Youtube was filmed today. Mj Paranzino'S will follow and then their is Levi Roots and others.
For a long time we have realised the need for a centre, where we can all gather and discuss those things we are to achieve. Again ,because of conditions, we have needed to show patience but now the time is here for us to deal with this very important matter and many successes will arise from it.
Aspects of our activities have taken time to root but from our centre they will soon flower and blossom from the small seeds we once sowed. Gesar activity will appear in all those places visualised....and it's all due to patience.
I look at the support we have and at the fine work our friends do. All associated with Gesar do something for others, none are idle, self cherishing and careless.
Our supporters raise funds for a variety of different charities. Rima Chai, Terry Emberson, Dominika Baron and Kara Green are an example of this. All act in the spirit of Gesar knowing that to help another is to enhance the lives of all of us.
This is true also of our Patrons and other well known names we have friendships with. Roy Hudd for instance represents several charities from Dr Barnado's to the Water Rats and Mia Farrow has dedicated her life to the desperate people of Dalfur.
One thing I particularly look forward to is the growth of our Gesar drama. Joan Diamond has made a great success of her company in Bideford and others will follow suit with the inspiration of Bernat Molina, David Schofield, Cherie Lunghi and Ray Winstone, Joan Plowright and kevin Spacey. All will play their part.
Imagine the company we will share at our centre, with every visitor living a meaningful life from which others may benefit..
True patience has no limiit, it has the power to cross life times. It is boundless in it's essence and the understanding of it has the ability to remove much pain, frustration and heartache.
To display patience is not procrastination. Their is no need to be forceful. All we need do is keep our vision clearly in mind until the moment arises for it to manifest. This is not magic, it is simply how things are.
To lack patience is to be impatient and impatience causes conflict, not only within our own mind but in those around us with whom we have contact. Under these circumstances there will always be a sense of disatisfaction. If we are happy with a settled mind then we are happy in all circumstances and this includes happy to wait and bide our time.
We have certainly waited and we have certainly bided our time. Every second without exception will be a benefit to others.
It is through patience that we must have confidence in the future of the Gesar Foundation and the attainment of our goals.
May all living beings rest in the tranquility of their own mind.
May all living beings be at peace
Kelsang Pawo
Rima Chai is to run the London marathon to benefit 'LOOK' a charity that supports partially blind children. Follow the links for more information on Rima and to support in helping children. It is Rima's aim to raise as much as she possibly can.

Friendships widen by the score

It is becoming increasingly difficult to mention and to keep up with all our friends who are...

Thank you Kara for your work in aid of the children of Darfur and to Jake Higgins for your wish to assist Dr Tsultrim in Kham in Eastern Tibet. Further thanks go to Lania for her enquiry having been inspired by Joan Diamond and Dominika Baron.
Their are so many projects that need our support and eventually we will fulfill our wish and cover the globe. We must visualise our success and continue to build daily taking small steps toward our ultimate goal.
The important thing is for us to not stop, for us to keep a steady forward momentum. This always works as in the end it will be inevitable for us to witness happiness for all beings.
It is a case of being gentle, silent and persistent, steadfast and relentless. To be recognised as reliable, virtuous and a comforting influence. Through the power of pure intentions all things are possible.
We must be a living example of open-ness, to be approachable but non intrusive, happy to ride lifes events with patience, understanding and tolerence and a guide to others.
Through the actions of friends their will be no being with a dread of tomorrow. All beings will rest in the tranquility of their own mind, untroubled, stilled and happy.
It is within our power to eradicate words such as hatred, miserliness and misery from our language by living a life, as of today, that displays only wise and compassionate qualities. This must be our asperation. To use the mental faculties we are blessed with as human beings to their full effect and thereby ensuring that our birth was truly meaningful.
We can change our lives and the lives of countless others, simply by being more mindful from one moment to the next. We are blessed at Gesar to know so many people of this nature.
This brings me to Joan Diamond. Our dear friend Joan has recently seen several of her books published. For those interested in mediumship, automatic writing, ghost and even ship wreckers tales then her books are a must read. You can find them at the G M productions web site.

It is important to mention that Joan insisted with her publisher that a donation from her book sales to go the Gesar Foundation when bought through our web site.
We wish you every success Joan with your works and thank you from all of us at your kind though typical jesture on behalf of the children.

Hello to everyone. I pray you have all had a relaxing break with family and friends and all are...

As a new year begins we have a wonderful opportunity to think about our achievements of the past, how we may build upon them and of what we may achieve in the future.
On seeing the news over the Christmas break, I saw with enormous sadness that even in 2009 we have not finally seen the end of warfare, mayhem and terror. How dim we are to still believe that violence is going to eradicate our difficulties. All over the world there are poor examples of wisdom to be seen and in the mist of uncontrolled anger that rages like fire, the poor children and the vulnerable continue to suffer.
As individuals we know from our own experience, that one moments anger has the power to destroy any merit we have accumulated. All the good we have given to the world is lost as our merit is consumed.
Those who support and work with the Gesar Foundation and other organisation are doing a fine job in doing what little they can to relieve the suffering of others and we must look forward to the day when it will not be necessary to do anything atall.
From this moment on we can be determined to display nothing other than kindness and consideration. By making a promise to ourselves to be patient and tolerant toward others, then we are also making a statement to the world and all who live here that they need have no fear from us.
Great leaders of the past such as King Gesar of Ling and even our own Robin Hood were Noble men, they were prepared to give their lives rather than lose their virtue and do harm to others.
Our wish for peace can come true and manifest across the world if we keep a clear vision in mind. Why should peace be such an impossible dream? Fundermentally it is a state of existence that we all seek so why harm ourselves by being unkind to others?
It is not easy to be kind. It takes great strength to resist negative forces but our own inherent wisdom will tell us that to act aggressively against another will only lay the ground for others to act aggressively toward us. It is for us to break cycles that take us only in circles. We can do this by developing our most gentle nature. The result of this will be the emergence of our greatest strengths.
As I write this my mind turns to Ghandi and how he was able to display peaceful resistance without anger and with the health and wellbeing of all sentient beings in mind. His Holiness the 14th Dalia Lama has shown also these qualities while speaking for peace for every being, even those who are seen to oppress the Tibetan people.
But what can we do we ask? The answer is to be a good person and a defender of the vulnerable. This does not mean protest. What it means is that we live our own life well, making keen choices that have no ill effect upon others. Where we can be seen as trustworthy, dependable and upright.
We can all be super hero's in the eyes of our young. Lets not allow this new beginning to go by the wayside. It is entirely possible for the chilldren of the future to not know what voilence and torment mean. Dictionaries in time to come can refere to these words from ancient times when ignorance reigned among fools on earth.
Thank you to all our friends for making the world a safer place. I wish you every success and prosperity for the future and I look forward to meeting many more new friends in the coming year and beyond.
May all living beings be safe from us
May we knowingly or unknowingly never cause damage to another being
I will write soon
From your friend

A happy Christmas to all

Over the past few years we have made many friends and all in one way or another are active in...

a linked network of friendship will pervade the world.

It was always the goal of the Gesar Foundation to accumulate friends, to support them and to inspire them where possible.
Interestingly the opposite has developed. It is the friends we have made who support and continue to inspire us.
Their are some wonderful people in this world and the ones we have met are far too numerous to name individually.
It is astonishing when we comb our web site and read of so many noble people that certainly I am very happy to know and to call a friend.
While individuals have been working silently in the field, doing what little they can to release others from a fearful existence, there have been others who have dedicated this last year to devoping a means that may help them best.
It is for this reason that I pick out for a special mention my dear friend and brother George Lenoudias. Dorje as we better know him, wrote the music for our Gesar Foundation children's anthem and set about the task of collecting together those professionals who house the skill to prepare it for recording.
Wish Fulfilling Tree is now scored by John Wilks and ready for recording by orchestra and choir. It has taken months of effort and dedication but it has all been so others may benefit.
A successful piece of music is potentially worth millions of pounds to the composers. It has the ability to transform a composers life so all his/her personal dreams of wealth may come true.
But Dorje has given up these rights so others may benefit. He wishes to not be named as he feels it unimportant for him to be seen as part of this. His thoughts are to promote only the sentiment of the lyrics.
How fortunate we are to have such friends.
While some are making their way to the North or South Poles and others are teaching children in the performing arts, while some are dedicating their time and energy to serving children in lands across the globe.....All are joined by a common bond held together by an indomitable thread of loving kindness.
To measure our good fortune in coming together under the Gesar Foundation flag, we can think about life for some beings is not necessarily something to celebrate. So difficult is their life that even food, water and shelter are hard to come by. There are mothers who have no choice but to watch their children perish due to conditions they have no present power to change. How happy we must be to be of a mind to help them. And how happy I am to know you all who constantly support and inspire me.
May all living beings prosper.
May all living beings be safe from my ignorance
May I develop the skills to be a protector of all those who are desperate and in need.
My love for you all is boundless.
Have a good and restful holiday
With love to you all

Words that echo

Dominika Baran told me of the charitable work of the Polish actress Anna Dymna and the difference...

Immediately I went to her web site and found both joy and compassion. Written below are the words of Anna Dymna. How they echo our own at the Gesar Foundation. It is wonderful to know that an association with Against The Odds can now develop with the loving compassion of Dominika and others. read the message of Anna Dymna below. I strongly recommend her web site.

Dear Friend!
The world is beautiful and amazing. Unfortunately, not for everyone.
There are many people around us who are ill, disabled, hurt by fortune or unable to cope with their problems. Lack of care and funds makes them sink into poverty and despair. They are helpless and lonely. They live silently on the fringe of our reality. Mental barriers humiliate and hurt them.
Does illness or disability have to bereave a person of their humanity and the right to dignified life?
Do they have to destroy dreams, talents, and ambitions? Perhaps we can help people who suffer and change their fate at least a bit - give them a chance for normal life close to us? I firmly believe that we can achieve this by working together. Sometimes a little gesture, a smile, an ordinary chat is enough to give someone hope, strength and courage. Such small, warm gestures, meetings, conversations, mutual trust and smiles are the source of my Foundation. Its activity is like rays of sunshine that have already brought light to some dark and rough paths.
We are growing. We have true, devoted Friends, Donors, Volunteers and we believe more and more that life can be better for every person.
Join us! We can do many great things together! Let's change the world together!

Further displays of friendship

When two people meet, it is easy to simply part again without recognising the powerful potential...

I remember well the day that Dorje and I first met. We agreed on that same day that we would make our meeting truly meaningful, that others may benefit from our new friendship.
As a result of our pledge we have been able to give to our children the gift of music and encouragement to others to do the same. With Wish Fulfilling Tree near to completion, it will join It's A Dirty Business on the Gesar Foundation music album.
Many friendships we have formed have developed in the same way and now we are very fortunate to see those friendships spreading to others and more successes for others emerging.
Lets always bare in mind that we have the power through our free will, wisdom and compassion to live a life so others may be grateful for our birth.
Others may not ever meet us or ever know our name but this does not mean that our mindfulness cannot effect them and improve their quality of life.
It is said that we would never give up our virtue if we were aware of its priceless and true value. That it is better to lose our life rather than denounce virtue. How can we ever come to harm if we live spontaniously in such a mind?
The word Gesar translates as indomitable. Let us do what we can to make the word Gesar common in our English language and used daily across the world. This is not religion, it is common sense. An existence where all can benefit.
Thank you all for your prayers for Mum.
May all living beings without exception be free of suffering and concern.

August has passed

Hello to everybody
August has passed by now and we enter into a new month with much to look...

The new news letter has been written and all the news of the past months events can be seen on site.

I am now looking forward to what the new month holds for us. Soon I will be visiting London with the goal of meeting all those who are active for us in the capital, so we may discuss ways to develop what we have started.
I wish to thank all those who have done so much for us, who have freely given their time and made strong efforts to further the influence of the Gesar Foundation.
Remember our Gesar principles of living for the benefit of others. If you feel you have something to offer our young in terms of skills and time then contact us with your ideas.
We all share the same wish, to live a life free of disatisfaction. To realise this wish we must, it is essential, act in a meaningful way for the happiness of others.
As we brouse through the Gesar web site we will read of many individuals who have joined together to make the world more comfortable for others to live in. We will read of Rima Chai and Tess Burrows, Hugh King Fretts, all adventurers past and present who do what little they can to inspire others.
We will read of Becky Slack and Joan Diamond and their efforts to develop Gesar drama in England and of Jann Wirtz and Liz Busch who work on projects in Nepal and Ghana respectively.
Through Gesar music we will recognise the tireless efforts of Dorje, John Wilks and many others who have selflessly offered their skills to the world.
The list of friendships across the world is becoming very long indeed. Everyday we meet with somebody new. This past month we have been joined by Miranda Garner and her friendship with Haley Kilgour is set to become history making and all will benefit.
It would be wonderful to real off all the names we have on site who are just like us and wanting happiness for others.
Bare in mind that it is sometimes difficult to think of how we can be a positive influence for the benefit of others but if this is on your mind then write in and check out if we can encourage you in anyway to realise a dream.
One such person to write in was Hannah Hocking, she is not certain she has the skills necessary to assist the street children of Marakesh but with friends to support her she is now going to make a small effort and try in little ways to see they are safe and free of potential harm.
As the Gesar Foundation move toward our next step of growth, lets all review our motivations and reflect on what it is we can ourselves offer.

I have recently left our Quality Of Life Animal Sanctuary in Holsworthy Devon. I cannot even begin to describe how the wonderful staff there are struggling from one day to the next trusting that they will pull through.
If nothing else we can think of how we may help the animals and of how we may assist in the development of the Gesar Foundation Children's Adventure Park
The farm has a new web site developing. Here is the web address for all you animal carers
If you contact them directly they will be able to advise on how you can best help if you wish. Your help is much needed and every phone call or e-mail will received with a blessing.
So come on army of spiritual warriors. Lets get on the march so countless beings today and in the generations to come may benefit by our mindfulness.
Thank you to all those who I have mentioned today and to all those who I have not. All are equal and in my heart. Bless you all and thank you for your friendship.
I will write again soon
May all beings find their happiness

Back on the Farm

Hello everybody
I am back on the farm to help move our plans forward, so all who will benefit from...

Today I composed an open letter for help, so we are able to offer a facility to others for a classroom meeting house. We wish to open our gates as soon as possible to you all. We wish to see you visit and to make positive use of what is offered here at the Quality Of Life Animal Sanctuary and Gesar Foundation Children's Adventure Park.

Earlier I went out into Holsworthy to meet locals and find a source of much needed builders rubble to construct our pathways. There was much success and we hope to have deliveries in the next few days, though we need one hundred tons and anybody living locally who has any suitable hardcore is welcome to bring it here. Ring 01409 255442 for directions to the farm.
The first building we intend is a temporary Porta Cabin that will serve as a meeting place for those who support our work and for lecturers to talk about the issues we are always alert to.
The open letter is printed below, please respond if you are able and inspire others to do the same. This is a great opportunity to make new friends and to be involved in something that holds great merit.

Hello everybody
I ask you to forgive me as I have been out of touch now for some time, leaving you...

Thanks to Tracy Allen at Country Pine in Station Road, Totnes, I have today at last gained some internet access.

Much has happened in the last two weeks and news will be posted on our news bullitin soon.
We are very happy to welcome Matt Harvey, the renowned poet and public speaker to the Gesar Foundation as a friend, along with Peter Bently, the wonderful children's author. More can be read about these two fine men and their work on our 'Friends We All Recognise Page'
Also we have very special news of Tess Burrows from the Southern Lights, South Pole Race Team who are to carry our Gesar Foundation flag with them to their freezing destination.
These great athletes and explorers have joined us as friends to encourage the young with their example of bravery and courage. I am delighted at this news. How happy I am to see Rima Choi, Tess Burrows and the team on our Friends We All Recognise page. This page is growing very quickly and is an indication of the wonderful support we share with very special and caring people.
The picture below shows Rima Chio displaying our Gesar Foundation flag at the North Pole earlier this year.
