Musical instruments for Children in schools

The Gesar Foundation world Anthem for children has since it became available, brought about some remarkable events. In fact the whole story of Wish Filling Tree is really quite extraordinary.

Pawo as a nomadic monk has no home as such, saying that if one is happy and at home with oneself, then 'here' is the same as 'there' and the world becomes our comfortable resting place.

Below we see Pawo at Tapeley Park flying the Gesar Foundation flag for children. This is one of his many stop off points.

Pawo claims no credit for writing the lyrics to Wish Fulfilling Tree.  He says they fell on paper at a perfect and spontanious moment. He kept the lyrics with him until he met the Greek Composer George Lenoudius who Pawo asked to write the music. George also claims no responsibility for the music. He agrees with Pawo that the melody arrived on its own accord and without warning. In fact it was in the middle of the night and he had to get out of bed to lay down the piano part.

History is now being made by the friendship of these two men,  though how in the conventional sense can we call their relationship a friendship? If we were to add the time that Pawo and George have spent together then it probalbly would not amount to more that a week. Remarkably the two men consider their job to be done and neither have any particular plan to ever meet again, though no doubt their paths will one day cross once more.

Below is a picture of Dorje, George working in the studio to put the original track together.

Wish fulfilling Tree has a job to do. It is to be recorded and performed not only in all the major houses of music throughout the world but in Cathedrel's, theatres, schools and by other musicians and buskers where ever inspired. It is to become the most recorded Anthem in the history of music. As Pawo has stated, he has found no other piece that is more meaningful for the vulnerable.

To date Wish Fulfilling Tree has inspired the forming of the Tambola Foundation of Colombia and the Lozen Brown Bear Foundation of Native Americans. It has been recorded by several artist and at present Chris Gray at Truro Cathedrel in England is working with John Wilks to produce a version to be sung by a superb Truro Cathedrel Choir.

Below in the picture with Pawo is Chris Gray, the choir Master at Truro Cathedrel. Beneath is a picture of Pawo with John Wilks.

Neither Chris or John have met before but together they will do an excellent job for children.

All concerned with the Anthem now wish to see Wish Fulfilling Tree go further and inspire those with unused musical instruments at home in lofts and cupboards to  donate them to schools.

Music is a great cause of peace and contentment. It is true that many talented young people have little access to express themselves and to help them along with their music can bring great rest to the world.

While those who are fortunate record their version of the children's Anthem others wait to do so. It may take them years to develop the skills but this is the Gesar principle, to give them the opportunity, to display patience and to be indomitable in our goal to do good for others.

If you have an instrument that is unlikely to be used, then please offer it to a school near you and be a witness as to how this will effect positively the lives of young people and society as a whole.
