Bodhisattva School
The Gesar Foundation Bodhisattva school has been until now, an on line friendship between Pawo and those who he has met while travelling who have shown interest in the Buddhist way of life. Bodhisattva is a word from the Sanskrit language of ancient India. Its meaning relates to the person who has taken vows to seek enlightenment for the benefit for all living beings. Pawo has discovered through his extensive travels that there exist a great interest in this subject and recognizes that for some, even the above explanation would need a further break down in translation.
Suffering is generally accepted as something inevitable and very much being part of having been born but there is a growing realization that we ourselves are the architechs of our own future and what is to come is of our own making.
Students of the Bodhisattva school will follow diligently the wisdom teachings of those who have become free of ill consequences due to the development of their compassionate lifestyle. They will train in transforming their thoughts, speech and actions from potentially harmful to perfect happiness. By doing so they will follow in the footsteps of great spiritual giants, learned men and women who have done nothing other than enhance the lives of others and choose rebirth to do the same.
When on his travels, Pawo is often asked to speak on this highly profound and truly meaningful subject (among others) and is always very happy to do so. He is very easy to recognize and if you should see him in your town or city and would like him to talk at your group meetings or school, clubs etc, then please ask him. Alternatively you can write to the Gesar Foundation and an arrangement can be made.
Below is a picture of Pawo with his assistant Eco Joe, along with Dawa and Shelok, two dear Tibetan friends. This picture was taken following a day's Dharma on the Bodhisattva way of life given by Pawo at the Swimbridge village hall in Devon England, as part of a three day mini tour. It followed two talks given by Pawo at Oxford university.
Dawa and Shelok were educated in Dharamsala, (home to many Tibetans in exile,) by way of western sponsorship. They are very thankful and work everyday to make life better for those less fortunate than themselves. Also They are great supporters of their exiled leader, His Holiness the 14th Dalia Lama and as living examples of loving kindness, they daily support His efforts for world peace.
Day's spent with such friends, talking on such beautiful subjects as kindness and the way to happiness are a wonder to behold. Let's have many more and generate the wakefulness necessary to put the Gesar Foundation out of Operation as a charity.
Below are pictures of more friend's, following a further series of gatherings and talk evening's in South Devon.
For further details of up coming talks, please write in to the Gesar Foundation via our contacts page.
